Long-term disability lawsuit filed by Veterans
Canadian veterans are still fighting for compensation in a long-term disability lawsuit that has been in the courts for the past four years.
The lawsuit was filed against the federal government in regards to long-term disability payments. The veterans who filed the claim were injured during their time serving and believe that the government is trying to revoke their disability benefits claiming they were considered income at the time.
The government retrieval of money is costing some of these veterans upwards of $3,500 per month. The amount of money that should be returned to the veterans could be as much as $500 million.
